The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an official notification for National Entrance Test for Scheme for Residential Education for Students in Higher Classes in Targeted Area [SHRESHTA (NETS)] 2026 for admission into Class 9th and 11th for Schedule Caste students for the academic session 2026-27. All eligible and interested candidates can apply online at NTA SHRESHTA official portal exams.nta.nic.in/shreshta from 10th October 2025 to till the application last date 09th November 2025 for SHRESHTA 2026.

NTA SHRESHTA Eligibility Criteria 2026

Educational Qualification:

Student belonging to scheduled castes, studying in class 8th and 10th in the current academic year (2025-26).

Parent's annual income is upto Rs. 2.5 lacs.

Candidate opting for class IX should be born between 01-04-2010 to 31-03-2014 (i.e. 16 to 12 years of age as on 31.03.2026)

Candidate opting for class XI should be born between 01-04-2008 to 31-03-2012 (i.e. 18 to 14 years of age as on 31.03.2026)
